Merry Christmas Hive

Merry Christmas to everyone on Hive and our own LeoFinance community.

Merry Christmas :)

While most of my daily content for the past 6 months or so has been SEO focused, I wanted to just take stock today and share something a bit more personal.

Bear with me as I brain dump some of my thoughts down and into this blog.

Sorry Google, this one just isn’t for you.

My Christmas

It’s been a busy Christmas period for me.

A quick, weekend getaway down the coast just before Christmas saw me out of the writing flow and now the couple of days of various family lunch commitments meaning I’ve missed a few more.

While I of course have enjoyed the time away, writing is such a consistency or habitual type of activity.

If I even miss just the one day, I always find it harder to get back into the groove.

This is just the nature of the beast and we all need a break from time to time, but it’s something I always want to stay consistent doing.

Not only for the good of Hive and Leo, but for myself.

Hence here I am with the laptop on my lap, the Boxing Day Test on the telly and some of yesterday’s lunch leftovers digesting nicely.

Thoughts on HIVE

While it's nice to see the price of HIVE rising over Christmas, honestly I don't really care.

I'm not powering down to sell at $2 before it inevitably pulls back to $1.50, because my visions for HIVE, the only truly decentralised web3 network, is higher.

A lot higher.

I have no interest in trying to time my power downs to trade my main investment stack.

Instead, all I'm interested in doing is creating content with real value and continuing to build my stack that way.

By the way, how did those selling into the Korean pumps every time HIVE ripped to a dollar go this last time when price didn't actually pull back.

Whoops.

I’m just here to add value with my content and stack for the future.

Christmas lunch crypto chat

It's always interesting to get the perspective of normies and what better place than over lunch with the extended fam (lolz).

If you’re here on Hive then you’re likely that weirdo who’s is into magical internet money of the family.

We’ve all been around for a few years now and while I know from experience that the questions have died down, they somewhat evolved this year.

I was asked about the Metaverse and tried to answer in a way that keeps things non-technical and in a relatable manner.

The metaverse is such a buzzword, but I tried to push the idea of decentralisation and potential interoperability between virtual worlds.

No centralised company like Facebook can ever own the metaverse, just like no government like the CCP can truly censor the internet.

You can own or censor your little part of it, but thanks to decentralised networks working toward interoperability, it will always be accessible.

It’s the same concept when you explain the idea of why your content on Hive can never be censored at the Hive layer.

Only by centrally hosted front-ends that users can flip between in order to retain freedom of speech.

The chat has certainly evolved from what we got around 2017, but still so far to come.

Best of probabilities to you.
