NASCAR branded digital horse NFTs are now available on Zed Run.
Zed Run Digital Horse Racing has agreed on a partnership with NASCAR to release a series of branded horse NFTs.
I wouldn’t have called a partnership between car and horse racing a natural fit, but this is the metaverse and in this brave new world, anything goes.
When you put it like that, racing NASCAR branded digital horses for cryptocurrency doesn’t seem too wild, does it?
What a time to be alive.
Sure, branded NFTs on Zed Run are cool
This partnership is all about providing officially licensed, branded horse NFTs on the Zed Run Digital Horse Racing platform.
Zed Run will now add NASCAR to their list of exclusive NFT partnerships, placing them alongside Atari and Stella Artois.
The Atari partnership saw 20, one of a kind Atari branded digital racehorse NFTs auctioned off on OpenSea, raising a whopping $410K.
Stella’s saw Zed Run release a Stella Artois branded 3D racetrack, inspired by The Life Artois marketing campaign.
Pretty cool, right?
But when can we gamble on fair digital horse races?
While collecting overpriced, randomly branded NFTs is a bit of fun, we all know that the real money is going to come from being able to gamble on Zed Run digital horse races.
For me, this is the only aspect of digital horse racing that really matters and needs to be talked about a lot more than it is.
Come on, nobody really gives a shit about anything other than winning money on the punt when it comes to horse racing.
I get that Americans are a bit far behind Australia when it comes to regulating the gambling industry, but surely Zed Run needs to prioritise betting markets in other jurisdictions.
ASAP.
For now, betting on Zed Run digital horse races remains a part of the product roadmap, but details are thin and updates far between.
Final thoughts on the Zed Run partnership with NASCAR
While NASCAR as a business has to appeal to a younger audience or die, the global real world racing industry doesn’t want the competition.
The regulatory roadblocks to gambling on Zed Run digital horse races are huge and the legacy industry is going to put up the fight of their lives to protect their own self interests.
It will be interesting to see how decentralised, crypto betting exchanges circumvent government regulations.
